I went to a local Holiday artisanal craft/food event last Saturday. There were decorations, musicians, even Santa Claus was there sitting on a fire truck. Lots of people were there-families, friends, all connecting. It was a beautiful day, I was meeting up with a friend and looking for new artists for my recently launched website sarajaneaccessories.com.
We wandered for awhile-enjoyed seeing all the pretty jewelry, cool candles, artisanal foods and some local non-profits that provide help for people and pets. Food trucks provided really yummy things to try. The first one I saw was selling grilled cheese sandwiches and soup. That sounded just right to me, so that’s what I thought I’d be eating. As we walked around, I realized this was a chance to try something different. Always curious, I spotted a truck called “Mad Pambazos.” Mad? Why? Pambazos? Huh?
The pictures of the food looked good, the line was just long enough to show interest but not too long to wait. I figured, why not? And boy, I am glad I did. My sandwich was phenomenal. A totally unexpected opportunity to expand my culinary horizon. My friend tried their shrimp ceviche… which was almost too beautiful to eat. And tasty? Totally.
I am so glad that even when I had a more traditional offering, like grilled cheese sandwiches and soup, I tried something different. Why not?
